November 1, 2020 - Participation of AGBU Sofia in a charity bazaar for fundraising for Armenia

Apr 12, 2021

We would like to thank to everyone who responded to the charity bazaar and contributed somehow: the organizers, donors, participants, visitors. With joint efforts, we managed to collect the amount of BGN 22070, which will be sent to our compatriots in Artsakh in need. We believe that this will help them in such a difficult time and we pray for a fast end of the conflict!

In this difficult time, for a short time, we managed to organize and offer a variety of self-prepared and donated goods. Members of AGBU Sofia - Lucia Medzikyan, Gronika Kavafyan, Sona Sargsyan and Heni Agopyan donated their paintings and sculptors. The children from HayLer Sunday School prepared beautiful souvenirs with the help of teachers - Nina Andrian, Anush Kirakosyan and Armine Manukyan . We presented the new album in honor of the 150th anniversary from the birth of Komitas. There were home-made halva, sweets, hummus on our tables, and Garine Kevorkian, a member of the board of AGBU Sofia, had prepared an Armenian gata . In addition, we offered pita bread (lavash) , sweets and othe food supplements, kindly provided by various contributors. We also offered hand-painted T-shirts and protective masks by Ani Vardevaryan, as well as on-site paintings.

Further to that, we also received direct cash donations in our box and we again we thank you for that!

AGBU Sofia is strongly against the aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey, demonstrated against the Armenian population in Artsakh and calls for an immediate ceasefire and bringing the aggressors to justice because of the usage of ammunition that is prohibited by the Geneva Convention as well us for violation of the human rights!
