The children from Sunday school AGBU Sofia Hayler participated in the holiday concert at the “Day of the Bulgarian National Revival Leaders”, organized by the Foundation “Child and folklore” which took place at the museum “Earth and people”.

Part of the children of Sunday School AGBU Sofia “Hayler” performed a song dedicated to the capital Yerevan: “Hey Gian Yerevan.” 

We welcomed our dear guest – the soloist from Armenia Elena Yerevan /guitar/ at AGBU Sofia's office. 

At the end of October 2020, AGBU Sofia welcomed the famous soloists from Armenia – Hasmik Haroutuniyan (soprano) and Eteri Hovhannisyan (canon) and together with Maestro Levon Manukyan from Bulgaria they created a special CD in memory of the great Komitas.

The recording took place at the famous singer Arthur Nadossian’s Sound City Studio in Sofia. During their stay our dear guests had the opportunity to visit St. Kevork Armenian church in Plovdiv. They met Ter Hratch Muradian who welcomed them and explained the history of the Armenian repiques exposed at crypto museum within the church. They also had a city tour at Old Plovdiv, full of beautiful historical places and also to the well-known Bachkovo monastery.

The AGBU Sofia Board of Directors expresses its gratitude to Hasmik Harutunyan, Eteri Hovannessian and to Maestro Levon Manukyan for the benevolent recording of the CD dedicated to great Armenian composer and priest Komitas as well as to AGBU Varna for sponsoring part of the musical project. 

Our dear friends Hasmik Harutyunyan, Eteri Hovhannisyan (both soloists from Armenia), together with Maestro Levon Manukyan and the musician Daniel Jelev (drummer) visited the AGBU Sofia “HayLer” Sunday school. 

On October 25-th, the wonderful girls from Armenia Eteri Hovhannisyan and Hasmik Harutyunyan visited the AGBU Sofia office Parekordzagan. After a nice meeting with them, the Honorary Chairperson of AGBU Sofia – Mrs. Sonia Avakian-Bedrossian and Maestro Levon Manukian took them to the opening of the exhibition of the famous artist Arshak Nersisyan in the lobby of Music Hall Bulgaria.

On October 20, 2019, at the Sunday school AGBU Sofia “Hayler” the classes in Armenian language and music passed so quickly. Children reminded with joy the last year’s studies, they played an interesting word game and played funny songs. 

On October 19, 2019 at the invitation of the teachers Nina Andryan, Anush Kirakosyan and Armine Manukyan a meeting with parents and pupils of AGBU Sofia Hayler was held at the office of AGBU Sofia “Parekordzagan”. Interesting ideas were shared in pleasant conversations about the development and activities of the school.

Special guests of the gathering were the beautiful girls from Armenia – Hasmik Harutyunyan, who is recognized as the best opera singer of Armenia and Eteri Hovhannisyan, which has an angelic voice and plays amazingly on the canon.

We had the pleasure of being among the Chairperson of AGBU Sofia – Mr. Arno Kuiumdjian and the Honorary Chairperson – Mrs. Sonia Avakian-Bedrossian, Maestro Levon Manukyan – conductor of “AGBU SOFIA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA” and Daniel Jelev – drummer. The teachers had prepared many delicious and various temptations that we all enjoyed.

Accompanied by Lilit Shahinian representing Birthright Armenia in Bulgaria. They presented Birth- right Armenian programs and ideas we were happy to learn. The meeting was very interesting.We were happy to exchange different points of views.

Since moving to Armenia in 2006 Sevan Kabakian has served as the Country Director of Birthright Armenia, an organization that works with the Armenian youth from the diaspora between the ages of 20-32, fostering real understanding, connection and engagement across the oceans for a more power- ful Armenian global reality. Prior to moving to Armenia, Kabakian worked for over two decades with the Armenian youth in Los Angeles, using the elements of volunteerism, learning, nature and theater, always being inspired and amazed by the promise of young people.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together.
