This concert was different - first because of the absence of guest soloists, again for obvious reasons. However, the focus was entirely on the impressive musical-technical and interpretive qualities of both the whole ensemble and its leading members. The acoustic environment of the Crypt of the Alexander Nevsky Monument enhanced the wonderful sound of string instruments.
The second feature of the concert - the program, was entirely focused on pieces of Armenian authors. Multicolored palette of different sound pictures, states, emotions, passion . The ballad-sounding Nocturne, Adagio / from the Spartak ballet /, Adagio / Gayane / of the Khachaturian classic, were a counterpoint to the virtuoso and dynamic Trio / Harutyunyan / and the iconic Sword Dance / Khachaturian /. The deep musical philosophy of Horal / Babajanyan / and the Second Part of the Symphony / Harutyunyan / sounded really impressive.
And the third musical plane - the arrangements of the musical pieces. Thank you, Nocturne for piano and orchestra / with a memorable piano solo / and Serenade - all from Babajanyan , who make the connection with another genre - popular pop music. All these three pieces set the life-affirming finale of the concert.
Even in these difficult for all days, the art of AGBU Chamber Orchestra Sofia continues to delight its fans.
